NPD: Prototype Tops June 2009 Sales
IGN: Industry continues to struggle with yet another bad month.
July 16, 2009 – The video game industry continues to receive no help from consumers, with June 2009 marking the fourth consecutive month in a row, year-to-year, that show a sales decline. According to the NPD, June saw the largest year-over-year monthly decline in sales since September 2000 when it hit 41%
As for the software side, Activision must be happy with the first month sales of Prototype comes in at the top with almost 500k in sales. UFC, meanwhile, makes another return to the top of the list this month, beating out EA’s debut of Fight Night Round 4 to take the number two spot.
