Sony PS3 Slim Available this week
When the PS3 Slim was unveiled on the 18th, it had been announced that the Slim’s ship date would be sometime in September however stores such as Wal-Mart posted ship dates of Aug 31. Then other retailers were started advertising dates much sooner then September. Futureshop in Canada has the PS3 Slim advertised as being available Aug 26th, a date also mirrored by online retailer Amazon. Gamestop in the US had a ship date even earlier, Aug 25th. Potential PS3 owners anxious to get their hands on the slimmed down and cheaper PS3 console allowed their hopes to rise as it appeared the new console might be in their hands sooner then expected.
Now those rumors of a PS3 slim available before September seems to have been confirmed by Sony themselves. Sonystyle, Sony’s online store, has updated their site with an expected ship date of August 25th, 2009.
